As an edifying arm of the First Baptist Church of Lake Orion, Lake Orion Baptist School exists as a place to educate disciples in Christlikeness, by reinforcing the parents’ responsibility to promote godliness and discipline in the home, by thoroughly equipping disciples to do ministry, by encouraging towards Christian maturity and service, and by offering an education and instruction in all matters of truth, in the light of the Author of all truth.

Lake Orion Baptist School began ministering to families in September 2002 and currently helps educate children in grades K-12. The leadership and families of First Baptist Church of Lake Orion started the school because God burdened their hearts with the need for a fundamentally sound, Bible-believing, God-honoring Baptist school in this community.

Children experience conventional classroom environments with dedicated, well-trained teachers. Small class sizes help create a proper learning atmosphere and give teachers excellent opportunities to reinforce and support students individually.  Textbooks written from a biblical perspective give children a Christ-centered worldview as well as an exposure to a college-preparatory curriculum centered on God's Word.

Kindergartners enjoy academic classes for one-half a day, five days a week.  The curriculum introduces children to a phonics-based reading program as well as Bible, mathematics, handwriting, and other subjects.  Our teachers assess Kindergartners for maturity and educational development using the Geselle Readiness Assessment.

Because our school is a discipleship ministry of First Baptist Church of Lake Orion, enrolling families must attend a church of like faith and practice as FBCLO and at least one parent give personal testimony of saving faith in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life.  All families agree with the Statement of Faith and Doctrinal Statement of the ministry Lake Orion Baptist School.
